Interpolation in the Suburban Area of Ilica

Zagreb / 2013.-2014. / Iva Martinis

Interpolation in the Suburban Area of Ilica

About project

The interpolation is not just a medium, a patch, an adapter between what is on the left (a small family house) and what is on the right (a multi-residential building). It also bridges what is behind (a quiet neighborhood of family houses on the slopes) and what is in front (a busy urban street); what lies below (the Ilica niche) and what is above (a large retaining wall); what was (an overgrown parking lot below a landslide at Grmoščica) and what will be (a swimming pool hall in a suburban Zagreb neighborhood). The new pool is interpolated betweenthe street cave below and the residential row above.
