House of water
Dubrovnik / 2016. / Davor Busnja
About project
An Austro-Hungarian waterworks facility at the Ombla source is being repurposed from a utility structure into a hybrid form of social and tourist use—reflecting revitalization efforts that connect the city and its hinterland and interpreting the existing narrative bonds between the center and the periphery. The upper part of the building is replaced with a new exhibition volume, while the spatial flexibility of the ground-level hall, along with the entry plaza, anticipates versatile uses and the creation of a new social hub.
