Project Žitnjak Anthropocene | Collapse | Post-Anthropocene
/ 2022.-2023. / Rebecca Bobetko
About project
A speculative vision of future habitats that raises new questions regarding the extremes of dystopian/utopian scenarios for existing and abandoned industrial sites in Zagreb's Žitnjak,
where the industrial archaeology is treated as the only desirable foundation for future coexistence amidst collapse and uncertainty. By thematizing living conditions ranging from existenzminimum to existenzmaximum, the protagonists of the newly created city intertwine their dominance—humans with nature and vice versa. The world of the living inhabiting the dying industrial city.
