Fresh Market
Zadar / 2016. / Petar Mišković
About project
The space of the new city fresh market emerges in relation to (and dialogue with) th existing topography and the stone paving of the plateau and perimeter wall of the Pasini Palace, framed by the new structure that covers the market. The structure features low cross-shaped columns in an even raster and a high-coffered roof construction, segmenting the market into smaller units. The relatively low edge of the structure creates an inviting entrance. Moving through the market feels like walking through a house with many identical, high-vaulted rooms illuminated by translucent cushions.
