House in Dol

About project

The house in Dol on the Island of Hvar is an act of radical optimism, a self-built project continuously evolving and broadening its ambitions. Embedded within the ruins of an old traditional house, it is extroverted in its introversion and minimally alters the existing structure. Constructed in the only way known to us—a working model at a scale of 1:1, this long and intermittent process softens the initial relationship between the new and the old. The house ceases to be merely an idea and becomes a record of accumulated time, needs, mistakes, and acquired knowledge.
