Met Hotel – Interpolation at Praška 4 and Attic Conversion at Praška 2
Zagreb / 2017.-2024. / IVANIŠIN. KABASHI. ARHITEKTI
About project
A wide square sloping into a narrow street towards a large park defines the site. Above the reinforced foundations and perimeter walls of the existing building, the interpolation follows the slope with a cornice, controlling the street’s flow into the block’s depths. The layering of “bones and skin” dissolves the boundary between the inner space and the city. Light strips cut through from the roof of the neighboring corner building . Empty-full-empty, day-night- day; façade behind façade, a razor slices the gaze in the zone of wires and suspensions.
