Studies on the Architecture of Synagogues in Croatia – Selected Papers
/ 2020. / Zlatko Karač
About project
This monograph of the chrestomathic genre compiles around 40 key studies by the author on synagogue architecture, a largely unknown and greatly destroyed segment of Jewish heritage in Croatia. Urban voids where synagogues once stood (such as the plot in Praška Street, Zagreb) represent a specific reuse potential for the memory of the lost, along with a few remaining synagogues that are neglected and lack adequate functions to restore their dignity and presence in the urban fabric.
