Transformation of the Former VA-MA Department Store into an Art High School Varaždin

By renovating and repurposing, the former VA-MA department store building is transformed into an art high school. The original skeletal structure and external architectural design are retained. Wooden spaces for new functions are inserted into the existing concrete framework. The spatial organization follows the school program—artistic and public spaces are located in the former department store building, while the general education section and administration are housed in a newly constructed tower. The project maintains a constant dialogue between old and new.
