About project

On Ilica Street, near the British Square, there is a missing building in the row of façades. This gap provides a gateway to the Academy of Fine Arts (ALU). Conversely, sunlight, park’s
greenery and vivacity of the block penetrate Ilica through this void. The void is embraced by splitting the new Aluartforum building into two slender, spaced wings that align with the gables of neighboring structures. Although identical in size, the wings contrast in design. At street level, they are connected by a fragmented plaza, above ground by a bridge, and below ground by an exhibition hall.
