Through forensic research and meticulous mapping of rooms and equipment, the massive, enigmatic complex of the Shipbuilding Institute in Novi Zagreb gradually reveals its hermetic
and complex interior. Following the premise that architecture here follows infrastructure, experimental space for contemporary artistic and scientific practices is unlocked through removal, addition, and speculation employed as main design tools. The institute, quietly disappearing, continues to serve the city as a reservoir of knowledge, remaining relevant and present.
