Reconstruction and Revitalization of St. John’s Fortress
Šibenik / Projekt 2013.-2018.; Realizacija 2018.-2022. / Boris Ileković / Dina Vulin Ileković
About project
The restoration of St. John’s Fortress in Šibenik follows three approaches: partial reconstruction, conservation, and modern architectural interventions to accommodate a scientific-educational youth campus. The unobtrusiveness of the new structures is achieved through volume integration into the terrain’s height variations. Panoramic views of the city remain entirely unchanged. The initial phase of construction left some areas unfinished. Future phases will emphasize the greening of all surface areas and the characteristic green labyrinth outlined in the project.
