Architecture and Nature: Astronomical Observatory Sarajevo – Trebević
/ 2019./2020. / Vedrana Moslavac
About project
Amidst dominant nature, architecture is not mimicry but a means of amplifying the natural characteristics and spirit of the site. The house is an alien object in a pristine landscape, architecture in complete contrast. Its elongated form creates a surface that maximizes contact with the intense landscape. At first glance, it isolates us from the surroundings but ultimately directs us to what matters. The structure, a pragmatic lattice framework, stretches between 2 points: an Austro-Hungarian tower and the former observatory at the mountain's peak, acting as a lookout over a valley.
