A New Reality of the Cooling Tower

About project
Developed as part of the Architectural Design Workshop 1 course, this project explores habitation in high-rise structures. A residential tower is inserted into the shell of a defunct nuclear cooling tower, creating new realities by blurring the boundaries between mankind and technology, reimagining the high tower as a beacon of progress and a symbol of human potential. Society is a system, and the system is society , energy, infrastructure, community, environment, and nature: interconnected in a cyclical exchange of equal giving and receiving.
About authors
Born in 1997 in Zabok, Petra Uvodić graduated from Art and Design high school in 2016. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Osijek and completed her Master's at the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb in 2024. She also works in graphic design.
