Rijeka City Library
Rijeka / 2014.-2024. / Saša Randić
About project
The T-building, a neoclassical industrial structure built in the late 19th century as part of a tobacco processing plant, was later repurposed into a marine engine factory "Rikard Benčić," which closed in the mid-1990s. Initially designed in the 2000s to house the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the building was reassigned in 2014 as the City Library. Its renovation is part of the Benčić Block redevelopment project, which, with the construction of the library and park, has taken its final form.
