Transformation of the Antenal Quarry

About project

The concept introduces a new form of nature into the former industrial quarry area, transforming it's context into a park. The quarry’s crater acts as a barrier between the town of Novigrad and the Mirna River estuary—an ornithological reserve. By connecting these two areas, the project enables the local population to engage with the valuable estuary. The project creates new pedestrian pathways through the quarry. Gradual renaturalization makes the climate milder, while plants provide shade and reduce glare, forming a new topography. Found materials are reused to create terrain.
