Reorganization of the Batarija Area
Trogir / 2020. / MVA / Mikelić Vreš Arhitekti
About project
A precise urban cut, a significant infrastructural intervention with a new city arcade, redraws the historic contour of Trogir and forms a new public space—a park/island. A series of smaller interventions using light steel structures provides infrastructure for the reuse of remnants of the medieval defensive system, including the St. Mark’s Tower and Kamerlengo Castle. The largest intervention, a structure in the castle’s courtyard, leans against the southern courtyard stone wall, supporting its compromised stability.
