Grandfather Marko’s House
Trogir / 2020.-21. / Davor Busnja
About project
Grandfather Marko’s House is one of the rare standalone houses in Trogir’s historic city core. The public space from which one enters the house is transposed within the walls as a vertical void. The void, resembling a traditional Dalmatian alley in proportions, scale, and character, becomes the spine of the house’s spatial and functional structure. This interior alley connects the square in front of the house to the fireplace and rooftop terrace, establishing relationships within the house’s shell and evoking layered connections between the house and the city.
