About project
Reflections on the genesis (Jozefina and the star) define the conceptual framework. The skyscraper's orientation and form align with and tangentially touch the direction of the axis. The volumes and surfaces partly reference fragments of the star. Traffic integration is a key theme. Sarajevska and Nazorova streets are connected by a straight pedestrian corridor, while the bus station is relocated to the railway one. The garages align with the same axis, sharing underground levels. Pedestrian pathways intertwine in a safe pedestrian zone, spanning above and below ground.
About authors
Vedran Pedišić was born in Zagreb in 1969. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb in 1996 and has led the SANGRAD architectural office since 2003. He has received both national and international awards.
