About project

The revitalization of the Zamalin cistern transforms this former peripheral water infrastructure into a dynamic public space. Although initially built on the outskirts, cisterns now represent underutilized voids within the contemporary urban context. The reconstructed floodplain surface becomes a multifunctional public area and a meeting point, integrated into the new context and serving as a catalyst for urban transformation, while maintaining its primary function of water collection for contemporary local needs.
