Temporary Landscape Intervention for Illyrian Sites in Herzegovina
/ 2020.-2021. / Marin Penava
About project
The first, forgotten layer of Herzegovina's anthropogenic palimpsest has surfaced into a strange new life: scattered Illyrian hillforts and mounds suddenly appear as archipelagos amid vast plantations. In the legal vacuum of karst wilderness, a fantastically delicate
collision emerges. The project of coexistence is thus not built upon legal frameworks but on mutual relationships. Plantations are secured with robust yet delicate infrastructure that also nourishes the hillforts. In turn, the mythologically charged sites are treated as fantastical landscapes.
